Our love hate relationship with our cars.

I love being mobile but, not when the car decides to quit. I think I may have lost a lifter and now have a nasty rattle. Car is parked until........ not sure how I will get it fixed. Only have 4 1/2 payments until it is paid off!! To say my nerves are a mess is to put it mildly and added to my stomach problems of late not a good combination. I have at least made a start on my June Needlework Masters SAL.  Should be able to post some pics soon.

Just a Note!

I am sorry that I haven't post since Mother's Day, but, I have been sick. I can't spend to much time sitting at the computer. My stomach and belly have been on the fritz. Even now I am feeling somewhat better but not the best. Still can't spend very long sitting. Lots of laying down in the past couple of weeks and still to come in the near future. Thank you for hanging in and I hope to have something to show for my stitching in the near future.

Mother's Day

Well I was going to post a couple of pieces that I stitched for my friends for Mother's Day but Blogger is not behaving. It wants to turn them on their sides. Sooo, I will forgo the post today. Maybe tomorrow it will let me post right side up.

April Stitching!

This is my page for the Needlework Masters Monthly SAL.

I stitched Just Nan-Among the Roses. I bought this kit in 2000 and finally stitched it up. It came with silk threads and I am now in LOVE! The second piece is Assisi work and is a simple free design I found online.

This is a birthday present for a very good friend.

Prayers for West, Texas!

With all that is happening in Boston, it seems that what happened in West, TX is being forgotten.

Prayers for all those lost and for those who have not yet been found. Our prayers should continue even after, as West will have a long road ahead of them to recover from this devastation.

Terror in Boston!

I don't usually post about current events, but, what has been happening in Boston this past week requires that I say something.

First and foremost  my prayers and thoughts are with all who have or are living through the nightmare unfolding in Boston.

The bombing, the shooting of a police officer and now a door to door search.

But, with that said,  these two men that the authorities are chasing are innocent until proven guilty.

This is America.

The media is chasing anyone that is remotely attached to this men and putting them on TV just for air time. CNN especially is hyping rather than reporting. I had hoped they would learn better tactics, but, it doesn't seem so.

Cayden's First Snow!!!

This is his first snow experience. He lives in Arizona and doesn't get snow. But, this last arctic blast put snow on the hills above his home. Doesn't he look happy.

New Venture!!!

I have added a new page to my blog. It is called Kate's Kreations. On it are items that I design and make. I have been doing this for about 20 years and usually sell at craft fairs. But, this last winter, I only did one fair. So, I am left with inventory. I also have many hat pins and stick pins and will get them listed soon. Come have a look.

This was a commission for a friend.

A scissor holder, a bag for holding loose items, a tape measure that is attached with velcro and pincushion.

This is a ORT container with a nickel to show size. When folded up it will fit inside the roll.

Happy Birthday Grandma LaRene!!

Grandma would have been 103 years old today. She died young at 67. This is the only pic I seem to have on my computer. It is from her wedding day, Jan 19, 1929. She was 18 yrs old. Miss you a lot.

1st Birth Sampler Finished!!

This is for a Great Great Nephew. The 1st of 4 I need to get done. This one is small, 5x7, the next is 9x13 and almost solid stitching, I will be at that one a while.

I joined the Needlework Masters Monthly SAL. It is a year long SAL. I have made a book and will be putting some kind of needlework each month on a page.

I am not a great photographer. The Front of my Book. The piece is a kit that my son gave me sometime ago and I never knew what to do with it.

Violence Comes Home!

Yesterday, our family had the violence of school shootings come home. My Aunt, Cousin and family live in Taft, CA. My cousins daughter was only 2 doors down from the shooting. I thank God that she ok and pray for the young man that was shot.

I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment but do acknowledge that we have to change our outlook on who has guns, how they are handled and stored. We also need to return God to the lesson plan for our young people.

What I have been doing!

This is a Blanket for my BF's new Grandson

 These four are designs by It's Daffy Cat. I stitched them and finished them all alike.

This is a Birth Sampler for a Great Great Nephew. It is one of four that I need to get done in the next year.

Edit:  There were 6 babies born into the family that I live with in December. Only one of the samplers is for them, The other 3 are babies born in the last 18 months that I am way behind on. My G-G nephew was born in 2011 and one girl in 2012, a boy in Aug 2012 and the last Dec 30 a boy. I usually take about 2 years for the sampler but have cut the size down to a manageable 5x7 for this one and I hope that others as well.
