I got an Award!!!

I received this from Marie
Thank you Very Much!!!!

Now I have to nominate 7 more blogs for this award. This is going to be hard as Marie and I share some of the same likes as far as blogs go. Here goes Coni , Megan, Tanya, Gaynor,
Paulette, The Lone Beader, Cindy Mae.

Ok, now you need to nominate 7 people, leave a comment on their blogs, link to them in your post and add a link to the person that nominated you.

I think that about covers it. I am very honored to be nominated. Thank you again.

30 June 2009

I have added a new feature!!

I have added a box to let followers and visitors get my own designs. These designs are simple. I have just started. I like simple things. Easy to stitch and with colors that can be changed by the person stitching them, to fit their style. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer. I have not stitched this current design, as I am just trying to get this started. I have included in the file a picture of the finished piece, as it would look stitched.

29 June 2009

RAK received!

I traded a pattern with Gaynor in Ireland. I sent this needlebook as well. I included some pins for counting and some large corsage pins for frogging. The book is on top of the backing fabric.

ExchangeSent and received

This is the ATC I sent to Janet in Malaysia for her birthday. I also sent some receipe cards that were in the same colors. I have started on my second ATC to send to Marie in Australia for August. Glad you liked it.

She has been in a wheel chair since July 2007 as she fell and broke her knee and hasn't been able to walk since. She was born with MD and could walk small distances at a time before the fall with a walker. Now she is chair bound. I love her very much and miss her. I have not been able to return to AZ to visit since I came home in 2008. All my LOVE Helen.

CRAZY WEATHER!!!

The weather has been really wierd. Rain in California, in June? And for the last 4 days? I don't mind, but, this is just WIERD!. I have not been stitching much. I am helping the kids get ready for a Complex Wide Yard Sale. All the tenants are going to have tables and make a day of it. I also took a tumble while trying to corral the landlords dog. Bruised and a bit sore but I will mend. Worst part is I cracked a rib. The landlords dog got out when I went through the gate, and she had just had surgery on her broken arm, so I was trying to be nice. I hope to post a finish sometime tomorrow, of my June ornie. Later, Keep stitching, Keep smiling and always remember to ENJOY.

It was a very depressing week end. My friend and mentor, 80+ passed away after contracting meningitis's. He had been in declining health the last couple of years. He is the reason I joined the Civil Air Patrol and made the rank of Major. He will be sorrily missed. RIP Bob, love ya

Received these from the oldest son, Lee, his wife and Cayden for mothers day. Loren my youngest took me to dinner.

Happy Mothers Day to All Mothers

Borrowed this from someone else but the sentiment is still very real. We all cherish our children.
As such we should all encourage them to get mamograms. Click on the link to help those who can't afford them, receive them. We don't want even one child to go without a mother to cherish them.

Unhappily you can't see the snow very well. Will finish when I have more to do. Can't see dragging the sewing machine out for just one ornament. Now on to my exchange that is due May 31. Happy Stitching :)

This is the pinkeep from my first exchange. I guess it isn't common to stitch both sides. I had a great time figureing out what to stitch and how to finish it.
I put my partners initials in the thimble and mine in the heart on the cat. I learned a lot and know that the next one will be even better. I am looking forward to the next exchange which is a Just Nan piece. I have already started mine and am just waiting for my partners name.

Current WIP

This is my current piece. I am almost done as you can see. I hope to finish tonight. I will make it into an ornament when I have more than 1 to do.

Great Drawing!!

Edger is having a Blog Anniversary. He is giving away a surprise item. Go have a look at his finishes. Fantastic!

I received the prettiest pinkeep today. There was a piece of linen as an extra. I hope my partner is as pleased as I am.

Half Finished!

Well, I finished the main stitching on my biscornu, but the putting together is really going slowly. Having trouble with the corners. Started a swap piece today, of course can't say who it is for and what it is. Had to rethink my choice when I found out who my partner was and what she did and didn't like. Not a bad thing, now I have to stitch out of my comfort zone. Really a GOOD thing. I need to deviate(sp) once in a while. Would really like to put it on linen but no can do with my eyes. 18ct will have to do.

Stitching update

This is a new project I started and have almost finished. It is going to be a pinkeep. I got the pattern from a Better Homes and Gardens sampler book and designed the border myself. I have made a little progress on the Baby Express. I just needed a break for a couple of days.

31 March 2009

Blog Problems

Sorry if anyone who tried to view my blog Tuesday. I tried to edit the site and it crashed. It is finally back up and running Tuesday nite. I have uploaded 2 new pics of my works in progress. This one is a Biscornu. Stitch-Creations freebie. Black work. I didn't realize that the squares are only 1 inch each. But I am persevering.

One Sick Baby

Well, I am babysitting this morning and the baby has a head cold. Sounds just awful right. Well, it really is. He can't nurse well as he can't breath and then he has to sleep propped on a pillow. Not, the best way to sleep for a baby but then you do what you have too. He is now 2 1/2 months old. Can't believe how the time flies. Back to being Grandma. More later.

26 March 2009

Slowing down

Not a lot to put in tonite. My SIL got home from my nieces' and says they are doing ok considering, My nieces husband is home from the hospital and the town has set up a bank acct to help with the expenses of her daughters passing. Katie will be missed, especially her smile. I haven't gotten a lot done on the pieces I'm stitching. Tomorrow or sat morning I will post some new pics. The baby has his first cold and the kids are miserable, he has a really stuffed up nose. Cute little nose. His is now 2 1/2 months old. Growing like a weed. More tomorrow. God Bless all who prayed for my niece and her family. Thank you, the prayers were greatly appreciated.

20 March 2009

Spring is Here!!!

I have made decent progress on A Star is Born. But, then it is really easy.

This is the latest on BOINK. I got the top knot done and have started on the frame.

17 March 2009

Very Sad New Today

Found out my niece lost her middle child last night. To say the least, a big shock. Katie was 13, and developmentally challenged. Had a seizure and stopped breathing. After which her father had a heart attack. They just moved from central calif to washington 2 weeks ago. Her mom, my ex SIL is on her way there now. Don't even have email or snail mail address yet. Not really in the mood to stitch. Can't reach my brother as he doesn't have a phone. I know he knows but that is about it. Hope to hear from my SIL in next couple of days. Until then, can only pray that husband will be ok.

Update

Got the top knot done on BOINK. Sorry no pics right now, probably tonite. Have to take Grandpa to the physical therapist. He broke his shoulder 3 wks ago and Sis twisted her ankle sunday. I am off today so falls to me. Grandpa is 81 and has dementia so hard for him to remember why he can't use his arm. Grandma will go along and help the therapist understand his reluctance. Well time to eat and get out of here. More later.

15 March 2009

Lazy Sunday

Well I went to a Baby Shower and ate something that didn't agree with me, sooooo, I have spent the better part of the day a bed. Had hoped to get some stitching done but no could do. May be tomorrow afternoon.

13 March 2009

Update on BOINK

Well, this is one days stitching. I can only stitch during the daylight hours. My eyes just don't seem to work well enough at night. I had to frog twice. I think the center sections will be easier once I get the frame done.

12 March 2009

BOINK

I found Book of Ink Circles for free on their website. Love the fact that it is a Celtic Sampler. It only uses 8 colors and full stitches. I am looking forward to seeing it emerge. Will post pics tomorrow.

09 March 2009

More for my Stash!!

I just received Gay Ann Rogers-New Years Resolution Ornament #1. I can't wait to start it. I will probably make several as I always give a different ornament ot my family and friends every year. It should work up quick as it isn't to big or complicated. I will post progress pics as I go. I have done a fair amount of stitching on the baby sampler and will post the pics later tonight. Happy Stitching.

05 March 2009

How Time Flies!!!

Well, it's been six weeks since Cayden was born and he is growing big. Got his first shots today. Mom and Dad are in for a couple of days of fusssssssssy. I moved last weekend. Found a place in the same house Loren lives in. Great place. No kitchen but, microwave and Refrigerator, I bought a coffee pot and toaster and I'll be fine. The phone was turned on this wed so I am back online. Yea!!!!!. Seem to have everthing in its place so I am going to try and get some stitching done tonight.

Back Online!!!

Finally, back online. First my computer died. Got a new harddrive. Then had to move. Then wait for the phone line and DSL. Finally Wed night all was done. Settled in so maybe I'll get to do some stitching tonight.

18 February 2009

Growing big and strong.

Well he's 5 weeks old. He still has all that hair he was born with. Golden, and still growing. Had a touch of colic last weekend but cleared up now that they changed his formula to one for sensitive stomachs. I can't get over how attached I already am. Seems like yesterday when his dad was born.

16 February 2009

I could not even imagine how different I would feel. Having grandchildren is like have a child. Only much more so. Now you worry about both, children and grandchildren. Holding them is like holding your own when they were so small. I have been working on a birth sampler for Cayden. I need to get more done. The last one I did was delivered on the 1st birthday of its receipent. I have hopes it won't be that long this time.

11 February 2009

He Finally Arrived!!!

This is my Grandson. Cayden Lee. My FIRST. DOB 1-14-09 Wt 6lbs 7oz.

22 November 2008

NEW FRIENDS!!!

The white one is Cowboy. A poodle, cocker spaniel cross. The other is Mac. A jack russell, queensland cross. Cowboy has adopted me. Thinks my bed is HIS!
The shower for Kristie is tomorrow, I hope to have some pics to upload then.
Weather is great, warm during the day and chilly at night. Should be some rain by next week.

24 October 2008

Road Trip!

I am going with my friend Donna to pick-up her parents. They have been visiting her brother in Nevada. Not sure whether or not we will be going all the way to NV or just to Stockton. Will find out tonite. All is well with the baby. Kristie had a job interview here local yesterday. I hope she gets it. It will be a lot easier on her not to have to travel so far. Party is supposed to be on the 9th of Nov. But the other person helping me is being rather negative. Not sure but I think I will have a card shower instead. Having trouble getting addresses from Kristie though. She is reluctant to give me addresses as they are so far away from here.

02 October 2008

IT'S GOING TO BE A BOY!!!!

This is the cradle/swing that the kids wanted. I have ordered it. It was a lot less online than at the store. I even was able to save shipping. The baby is due Jan 25, 2009. They are going to name him Cayden Lee Braden. I and a friend will be having a shower for her probably early Jan. I will let everyone know.

02 September 2008

Hip Hip Hooooray!!!

Well, I finally found a place to live in CA. I am closer to my job (Ha Ha) than I was. It is out off 46 east. $450 a month including utilities. I got a room with cable, washer/dryer, kitchen privileges and a shared bath with a 22 yr old female. The owner is a guy. Seems nice enough. Said I could put a lock on the door so when I leave I won't worry about anything. He works nights, and is happy to have someone a little older in the house to watch over it. Boys, will help me move in tomorrow. All my love to everyone. Kate

08 August 2008

Well, I'm still in CA. Can't find a place in AZ or CA, so am staying with a friend until ???. Also, my boss is OH MY GOD,NO not AZ. If he had the hours it wouldn't be so bad. Loren, his knee now has a brace on it all the time, but, the insurance company says they will not fix it again as it is not work related. Lawyer is mad to say the least. It wouldn't be broken again if it hadn't been broken to start with. I took him the LA wed and the VA did an MRI. They are looking at fixing it. He has gone back to work for a tow company, on limited duty(part-time). Lee and Kristie are living seperately but???, we are at 16 wks and counting. No sex determination yet. Lee and Loren are crashing at the same friends house for now, Kristie has gone home to her parents. More later. I don't get to the internet as often as I want but am trying to get there more often.

07 June 2008

Life is Fluid!!!

Loren June 2008

This is Lees' birthday in Monetery. May 2008

I have decided to go back to AZ. I can't find a place that we can afford here and Lee and Kristie are not getting along. Alsoooooo, they are again pregnant!!! I am not sure where I will stay when I get to AZ. Dad is trying to find a small trailer that I can buy on time and still afford the space rent. Until then I am staying in CA for a month so that I can attend my friends' parents 60th wedding anniversary. Loren, well he did it up royal when he hurt his knee this time. He not only destroyed what had just been redone but did someother damage as well. The insurance company is fighting about paying him but is paying the doctor bills. Other than the above, I am having some health problems related to the stress, and this also is why I decided to distance myself from Lee and Kristie.

06 May 2008

Loren has found a job! Buttt, last thursday he was helping a friend and he stepped wrong off a deck and his knee gave out. He went down and called me. 4hrs later, he is again in a brace and on crutches. Not sure what he really did to his knee, his lawyer has to get permission for his doctor to see him and then we will know. His job is on hold for now, the company will wait and see. I am praying that it is just a sprain and he will be back on his feet soon. I am still looking for a place to live, have some prospects but all want more than I have for a deposit. Will, keep praying and know that God will provide as needed. Love to all.

17 April 2008

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!

Loren lost his job on Monday and his girlfriend left on Sunday. We were asked to move on Tuesday. They want to refurbish the apartment. Only one left in the complex not vacated in the last year. Oh, well, such is life. We are already looking, even though the landlord gave us 60 days. Hope to be moved by next month. I just got unpacked and settled, now I will start packing up again. My job has gone from 20 hrs to 12 or less each week. As I said when it rains it pours. We are healthy though and my car is fixed. Turned out to be an after market alarm system that was installed before I got the car. A friend was visiting and knew how to fix it. Alleluia. More later.

10 April 2008

AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

The car is acting up again. I have to chase the insurance. It has an electrical short somewhere. Now to get the insurance to pay to have it fixed. Other than that, all is well. The boys are getting along better, and Loren is accepting Lees' girlfriend. The weather is nice during the day but cold in the morning and late afternoon and of course at night. Typical spring weather is cental calif.

30 March 2008

ALL IS WELL!

Not much to say. We had a great Easter. Just the boys and Lees' girlfriend. A nice quiet family dinner. Kristie turns 21 March 31 so we are having a birthday party tonight. Just 2 other couples so not a really big thing. I am still helping Dale with his business and am grateful for the chance. My joints ache alot more here than in Az but I am still able to get around and do the things I want to do. I'm getting my room together and it is a challenge as Lee is rather slow to do the things he is asked. Not that he won't but he does things in his own time. That has always been one of the things that are a challenge when living with Lee. Loren is doing so much better. He is now on meds for his depression and is the sweet, loving, easy to talk to person I knew was hiding inside. I am not surprised, because his father is bi-polar, and of course Lee is autistic. Dad seems good. The new dog is giving him some fits but all in all he seems in better spirits since she arrived. Kris and kids are doing well, speak to her every couple of weeks. This picture is from Christmas when dad came to Havasu. Well, I need to go and finish the birthday cake. love to all

01 March 2008

The trip to AZ wasn't to bad. The weather cooperated, to and from. Didn't hit rain until we got back to Paso Robles. The car did great and so did my passenger. She is settling in with dad and seems to like it. He took her for a ride on his ATV and she wants to go again. On an unhappy note. When I got home Kristie was miscarrying. She is now back on her feet and though unhappy is looking forward to the wedding next May or April. Lee is the same as ever. You wouldn't know that anything had happened. More later.

21 February 2008

Headed back to Az, on Sat to deliver this little girl. Her name is Jasmine. She is sooooo sweet. She is Kristies' dog but we can't keep her here, so dad said he would take her. I will pick up my stuff in Lake Havasu and return on Sun. I need to be a work on Mon at 9am. This is going to be a rocket ride to and from. I am taking a friend for company, so it shouldn't be to bad.

22 January 2008

Will head for CA on the 8th of Feb. Most of my things left today with a friend who has a pickup and is going home after visiting Kristie and Jr. Loren has found a 30ft trailer and is moving it to the property where he keeps his horse. His household goods are going into storage and mine are coming out. Lee and I will be living where Loren and Lee were living. Lees' girlfriend is living with her parents until they get married next year. The baby is due this summer. Dad is coming up to Lake Havasu to watch the superbowl and spend some time with me before I go home. I went to the Quartzsite Swap meet last weekend. OH, MY God! I have never seen so many people and sellers in my life. It covered almost 4 city blocks on both sides of the road not to mention the swap meet down town. Had a great time and bought some beads and things. Time is almost up on the computer here. Kristie got a new computer this morning but needs to get a new broadband modem before she can go online as the configuration of the port is different. More later. Kate

03 January 2008

Things Change!

Well, I may be moving back to CA. The landlord raised Jr and Kristies rent because I am living there. I can't afford to pay them. Soooo, I guess I will go back to Templeton and live with Lee and Kristie. Lee is going to need a lot of help with the baby and learning how to cook and keep house. I tried when he was at home but to no avail. Kristie will want to go back to work after the baby comes and she will need too, so I am willing to help. Lee and I get along, compared to Loren and I, we don't see eye to eye on much of anything. I really don't want to but we shall see. Dad says don't make any hasty decisions, so I will wait until at least mid month before setting my plans in motion. Took David to see the new Chipmunk movie yesterday. It is cute, and a good one for kids. No violence, bad language or sex. More later.

20 December 2007

BABY DUE!!!!

I am going to be a Grandma. Sometime next summer. Lee and Kristie were planning on getting married either this summer or next fall but now plan a winter wedding. Not sure when or where or what type, but, will keep all informed. Real shocker but such is life.

11 December 2007

Merry Merry Christmas

To all my friends and family. May you have a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Good Health for the coming year. What with having to go to the library to get on line I am a bit spotty with updates and I can't upload any photos. The home computer is working in short spurts. It needs a new fan. All is well in the land of the sun. Ha Ha. We have had clouds and cold weather for the last 5 days. No rain but cold. 45 this morning and only 60 yesterday. Car is running good and Dad sounds well. He is coming up for Christmas day. Will try and call all at that time. Love and kisses, hugs too.
